I’m in a quandary and it involves airline perks.
On an upcoming trip, I’m traveling with two other people. I have Delta Medallion status and they do not. I have access to the Sky Club and they do not.
I use airport lounges as a place to eat, relax, recharge devices, and use the restroom. I haven’t bought food in an airport in years.
What should I do before the flight and during the connection, go to the Sky Club or not?
How do you handle these types of travel situations?
Hmmm…I say don’t go to the lounge. It’s worth it to save the friendship instead of a few bucks. Unless there’s a way to get a guest pass…?
I agree with Kat. I’d be a little hurt if my traveling companion ditched me to go to the lounge. Unless it’s possible to bring them as guests?
Here is an analogy. Assume you are on a tight budget and your friends are wealthy and you are picking a restaurant for dinner. Your friends would be rude to suggest one of their normal high end spots. In order to make you comfortable, they should be the ones to suggest something affordable even though it’s not what they truly want. It would be like over dressing or showing off expensive jewelry . Even if your companions exhort you to go to the lounge, you should decline and stay with them.
