I was watching TV the other day, I saw something about Petra, and decided I wanted to go there. So, me being me, I immediately Googled cruises that went to Petra. I found one that looked amazing to me. It was 16 days, so by the time you factor in travel time, it’s close to a three-week trip.
Step one of solo travel is to find a trip you want to take. That’s the easy part. It gets more difficult from there.
Step two. Find someone to travel with, especially on long cruises where the single supplement is a killer.
I have a great group of travel buddies to reach out to. Each of them has different travel tastes and requirements. Some people like short trips. Others are happiest if they’re doing something active. Some like rest and relaxation. A few have restrictions and can only travel during summer months and school breaks. Many can only take two weeks off at a time.
Since this was a three-week trip in the late spring, the people who I thought would be interested was limited.
I reached out to them, but this trip didn't work out this time. Hopefully, I can get there sometime soon.
How do you decide what you want to do and who to do it with?
