Did you know if you're traveling on two airlines on a single itinerary, each airline has its own record locator?
I learned this the hard way once when I was traveling on Air France, a SkyTeam partner and connecting to a Delta flight. I had a problem with my Air France flight and couldn't log into my reservation with my Delta record locator.
The app kept saying it couldn't find my reservation so I had to call customer service. That's when I learned each airline has its own record locator.
Now I always make sure to have each airline's record locator information before I fly.
So, for an upcoming flight, I have one flight on Delta and another on Korean Airlines. They are partners, but do not share all systems.
If I use the Delta app or website, I need to use the Delta record locator number. If I used the Korean Airlines app or website, I need the Korean Air record locator number.
All it took to get that information was a quick call to Korean Airlines for them to look up my reservation using my ticket number. They would have also been able to do this with my travel dates and full name if I didn't have the ticket number (which is a good thing to have written down, just in case.)
I almost forgot to get this information for my upcoming trip, so I thought I would remind y'all to do it.
very timely 🙂
